Eileen Hardy Pinot Noir 2013

To say I was deflated after tasting this would be an understatement. You'd expect a level or organism factor from a $95 wine, but what I had here was something lacking polish.

Twiggy, dark cherry and some smoke, the fruit carries some minerality, good depth and a chalky/powdery tannin finish. It just came across clunky and disjointed without the super supple mouthfeel I was looking for.

You don't want pizza wine for that dough but sadly that's what I had.
